Tea Time with Alex

A sassy transgender educational series

Tea Time with Alex

FU HB2

FU HB2

Tea Time with Alex is Myriad’s direct response to HB2 and other laws that challenge LGBT rights. We believe this legislation comes from a lack of understanding and misinformation.
With the goal of conversations and compassion, the web series challenges ignorant assumptions and empowers individuals to educate themselves in a safe, judgement-free environment.

A dash of sass

Alex, our fearless host (and Myriad’s Accountant), is sassy, hilarious, and sometimes heartbreaking. Each episode features questions from our viewers that range from gender identity and sexual orientation to Trans hate crimes.

I'm pansexual and genderfluid myself. I'm 12 and just came out two months ago... I have been feeling very low recently and over people making me feel invalid. Thank you so much for making your tea time segments…

We are human & deserve to live as who we are.

We see you

Hands down, the best part of Tea Time has been the heartfelt feedback from our fans.
Teens are using these videos to talk with their parents about gender. Fans who have felt isolated in their transition journey are finding a community and a way to laugh. We even inspired “Chai Time with Melanie” — a show from our friends at Pride School in Atlanta to talk about Melanie’s mixed heritage.

You have taught me not to be ashamed of myself and my sexuality

Care for a cup?

To date, Tea Time has over 100,000 views and almost 5,000 followers across YouTube and Facebook. It also sent us to NYC for IFP’s Spotlight on Documentaries Program. We took part in a week-long intensive, then pitched the series to heavy hitters like Amazon Studios, Discovery and NY Times at IFP Week.

The stats are fun and all, but our ultimate goal is to educate allies and spread the message of understanding, inclusion and acceptance. Can we pour you a cup?
